Self-Portrait (Photography and Digital Illustration, 2025) — A photo I took of myself that I have edited and painted over.
Self-Portrait (Photography and Digital Illustration, 2025).
A photo I took of myself that I have treated as a canvas, editing and drawing over to blur the line between the physical medium based in reality and the digital medium based in unreality.

About the Artist

I’m Aundreah, an Illustrative Designer living in Western Washington. I have been featured in multiple art journals, and I am currently working towards my bachelor’s degree at the Bothell campus of the University of Washington, and will graduate in May 2026. I’m always open to new clients, but at this time I am rather busy working as an Editor for the 2026 edition of Clamor, UW Bothell’s literary and arts journal. It will be freely available online by late spring—please look forward to it!

My Process

I primarily work digitally—my favorite creative softwares at this time are Clip Studio Paint and InDesign, but I still have a soft spot for traditional mediums and sketching. I like to create illustrations that are fantastical, incorporating textures and surreal visuals to tell a story. I often find myself at the crossroads of desiring to create something elegant and simple, but also indulging in my love of maximalist decorative styles. I often start with a multitude of ideas, and whittle my way down to an idea that I not only desire to see actualized, but also can visualize myself successfully creating.

Similarly, when I work on larger projects—particularly design projects—I start with a multitude of directions that I want to take within the scope of the project, and then explore and research those directions until I can create a refined and unified visual language. I particularly enjoy designing characters and environments, I love the implicit narratives that can be conveyed through the visuals of a large project. As of recent, I’ve found collaborative environments to be creatively fulfilling, and hope to experience more of them in the future.
